Sight seeing

Burgundy enjoys a rich and varied heritage which you are warmly invited to explore.

Quoting Abigail Butcher of the Telegraph : often described as the wine capital of France, Beaune is at the heart of Burgundy, easily reached from all directions. Popular with Britons en route to the south of France during the summer, or the Alps in the winter, it’s one of the best places in the country to eat and drink. The pretty, walled town has cobbled streets, many places to eat and a wine merchant on every corner. It’s just under two hours from Paris by TGV, or from Lyons if you fly.

  • The Hospices de Beaune, is well known by wine lovers not only for its famous auction every year in November, but also for its XVI century old hospital.
  • Dijon, the capital of Burgundy. The superb legacy of the Burgundian Dukes – from the Ducal Palace to the Charterhouse of Champmol – is a must-see in the region.
  • Dole features a number of outstanding buildings: the 16th-century collegiate church, a hospital building and several beautifully kept townhouses.
